Is This Heaven?...No, It's Iowa

We decided to take a family vacation to the Wisconsin Dells.  The trip included a long drive through Iowa so we were looking for something to break up the miles.  I had read an article about how you could visit the Field of Dreams movie location and knew it was somewhere in Iowa.  I was excited to find out it wasn't too much of a detour from our route to Wisconsin.  So we now had our Iowa pit stop.
We sat down two nights before our trip and watched the movie with Ella and Sam who had never seen it.  Sam loved the movie and Ella thought it was good but a little scary.  Having the movie fresh in our minds we arrived at the field in Iowa.  It was a neat experience.  The field looked a little smaller then I imagined but it was great.  They let you go out on the field, run the bases, and "have a catch" with your family.  John and the kids enjoyed reenacting scenes from the movie.  They even took a walk into the corn.  This turned out to be a big highlight from our vacation.
We also made one other quick stop at The University of Iowa.  John showed all of us where he interviewed when he was considering Iowa for his residency.  We also stopped by the football field and basketball arena.  It has become one of Sam's things to stop by arenas in towns we visit and get his picture taken in front of them.  He likes to compare the fields and then enjoys seeing them later on television.

Reading interesting facts about the movie.
