Let's Go to the Hop

A group of parents get together every year at Sam's elementary school and have a sock hop for the fifth graders before they head off to middle school.  Sam wasn't sure he wanted to go at first because he didn't want to have to dance with girls.  When I convinced him that he wouldn't have to dance with girls he decided to give it a try and had a great time!
They have the dance part of the night as well as games set up in the classrooms and an old fashioned soda shop.  At the soda shop the kids can get root beer floats and snacks.  The kids dress in fifties clothing which is a lot of fun.  Almost all the kids attended and they really enjoyed themselves.

One of my responsibilities was to make the goodie bags that would hold the tickets for the photo booth and kids could use to hold the candy they won at the games.  I think they turned out pretty cute!

Ready to go in and party!

My other responsibility was decorating the lobby.  This was the bulletin board I made with records of each kid.

Dancing the night away with friends.

Look who is at the front of the group!

A class photo.

Being silly!
