Birthday Party Number Two!

We celebrated Sam's birthday again this weekend with his friends and our family here in Springfield. He had some boys over for lunch, to play and then to see Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The theme, once again, was Star Wars. They were running through our house all morning with light sabers swinging! Then it was off to the movies. While I can't recommend the movie the boys all loved it! There was one point where three of them were literally sitting on the edge of their seats.
Then it was home to meet family and friends and have some ice-cream and cake. The boys went home and family stayed for dinner and to visit. Sam told me last night that it was, "such an awesome day." So glad he had fun.

The Big Seven

Kylie, Emma, Sam, Ella and Aiden

We celebrated Sam's birthday with my family in Kansas City last Sunday. We had everyone over to my parents' house for the event. Sam wanted a Star Wars party and got some Star Wars as well as many other great gifts. We had a good time with family. The only thing that would have made the day better would have been a Mizzou tournament victory.
It is hard to believe that my little boy is now seven! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful kid and enjoy watching him grow. I just wish it wasn't going so quickly.

Spring Snow

I thought we were probably through with large snowfalls for the year but weather in Missouri can always be tricky. On March 20th we received about seven inches or more of the white, fluffy stuff at my parents' house. The kids wanted to take advantage and build a snowman. With my mom's help they made a really cute little guy!

Disney on Ice

The kids, my mom and I went to see Disney on Ice last Saturday at The Sprint Center in Kansas City. The weather was nice and snowy outside for the first day of spring but we bundled up and headed to the show. The show was composed of four different Disney movies and one was Cars and another was The Little Mermaid so it was perfect for Ella and Sam.
Ella wasn't sure what to think of everything at first but after a few minutes she warmed up to the show and had a good time. It got a little long at the end for her but she is still talking about it almost a week later so I think it was a hit. Sam enjoyed it all and watched intently the whole time. It was a nice time together!

Frog and Toad

The kindergarten and first grade classes at Sam's school put on a Frog and Toad musical the other night. Sam was so excited about singing for all of the parents! The kids did a great job.

Unfortunately, I have found out that my new video camera doesn't come with software for Macs so not sure how I'm going to get all the video onto my computer. This picture will just have to do for now.

Go sharks!

Instructions before the game from the refs. Does Sam look like he is listening?

Cutest spectator ever

Getting ready to catch a big pass!

All smiles after the game.

Another basketball season is in the books. Sam had a great time playing with his team. They only walked away with one win but showed a lot of improvement during the season. Sam scored his first basket and really improved his defense. His mom was proud when she saw him diving for those loose balls! He will be sad to move onto soccer but is asking for a basketball goal for his birthday to be able to play at home and wants to find a basketball day camp to attend this summer.
