Math Whiz!

Sam's school has an award ceremony at the end of every year where each student receives an award. It is always fun to attend and Sam was trying to guess all morning what award he might possibly receive. This year he won the top notch math student for scoring so well on the end of the year math test. He hadn't listed that as one of the options but said he wasn't surprised since math is his best subject. I am very proud of him and also very thankful that he got his dad's math genes.

Last Day Picnic!

Ella with her best buddy!

Playing with Boston on the bridge.

Ella had her last day of preschool last Tuesday. They celebrated with a play day and picnic at the park. We both had a good time visiting with friends and were glad that the rained stayed away for that one day last week. She was looking forward to the park and lunch with her friends for weeks and I don't know what we would have done if it had to be cancelled. I will say she was not disappointed. She ran and played for hours. She has made a lot of friends this year and learned more than I would have ever imagined.

Confirmed

Ellie with her cousins on Confirmation Day!

My niece, Ellie, celebrated her confirmation a week ago. I was privileged that she chose me as her sponsor. What an honor to get to stand with her as she received the gifts of The Holy Spirit and tell the bishop her name. I am a proud aunt and Godmother!

First Communion

I was one proud mom as I watched Sam celebrate his First Communion on Sunday. We were lucky enough to have lots of family come to celebrate the big event. We had a lunch at our house prior to mass. Sam has worked hard all year preparing for this day and was very proud of himself and excited to join the community at the Lord's table.

Gymnastics!

Showing off her trophy!

Practicing her trampoline routine

Ella participated in her first gymnastics meet last weekend. She was a little nervous to go in front of a large crowd of people but she did a great job! She competed in a floor and trampoline routine and took third place in both events. Most importantly, she had a good time. She is really enjoying gymnastics and after the meet moved up into a more advanced class.

He is Risen!

We celebrated Easter at my parents house this year. The kids woke up and searched for their Easter baskets full of goodies. Then we got ready and headed to church. After church was a nice lunch with the family and some Easter egg hunting. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our risen Lord.

More Eggs!

Eggs made at home!

I forewarned you in the last blog that some more Easter egg decorating may be taking place. The kids wanted to make eggs at home,so last Thursday we got out all of the decorating goodies and made some more masterpieces. My mom, not knowing that the kids had decorated eggs on Thursday bought decorating kits to make more eggs at her house this last weekend. So not only did the kids get to make Easter eggs twice, they got to make them three times. Let me assure you there was no complaining on their part.
